But where would you stand if you bought the car and approached the DVLA explaining you had bought the car, realised it was a tax dodge and wanted to put it right and ask for a correct age related plate? Would they say no and take it off you or accept it and issue you a new plate?

you can't really blame the bidders though, not everybody has all the knowledge to buy a genuine car.
It's just a shame that there are bidders at all, because when the auction ends in a little over 4 days time one of them is going to have been had big time.

Just a thought, but perhaps that guy is legit but stupid and was conned when he bought it. Either that or he is REALLY stupid putting it on ebay like that.

Looks like he buys and sells a lot of cars, so I would suspect he's not entirely innocent.

Didn't notice that. Looks like he falls into the really stupid category then.

That is just so blatant, just like the blue car recently discussed (at length).

here is my reply to him.
i was only letting you know...........also the vin number of that car will be stamped into the bodyshell in at least 4 different places (as all mini's were after around 1991) so if that car is subject to a dvla inspection then the real identity of that car will be revealed. i trust that you will let the winning bidder know this before their new car is impounded and crushed!

I'm sure if you bought it and took it to DVLA you'd lose it if they found out it was nicked
