well the winner is mk3 cooper s just removed engine took diff off and missing all teeth but 3 on the smallest clog

ya well and truly smashed up lol and took gearbox off now and will take it to work Monday and stick.it through parts wash

i had a mate repair the diff for me and.this is what was found

Damn that is well and truly knackered, at least you have found the cause of all of your problems.

Good luck with the rebuild and make sure you find all of the bits including any swarf etc. That would be the last thing you need going round your newly rebuilt box and of course the engine.

Think about a new uprated diff pin.

diff is already rebuilt with a race diff pin and gearbox is going to guesswork tomorrow :)

ya he worked his magic and that's fixed and gonna fit it back on the gearbox and repaint the block as well :)
