we did initially, we have a chum that works with aeroplanes and we were going to get him to make us some patches but we decided to be brave - how bigs your hole in the rood Tomlad?

It's not big at all only about 10mm long and a couple if mm wide. Going to get someone weld it up for me.

Hi All,

Thanks for all the positive comments about the roof repair It seemed like the most logical way of doing it. I've done ones in the past where it was just a case of patching one of the four panels that meet at this point, but three of them were rotted out here. It was a scary job, but I think it's turned out quite nice in the end, I'd do it again in similar circumstances.

Evening :) just uploading the photos from this weekends work, although the majority of it came today with the addition of something Blue... question is can we make the deadline?

So, all thats left to do is paint the doors, top side of the bonnet and the boot. Oh and a host of other things :) but you'll just have to wait!

The shopping list is getting bigger so looks like i am going to be off to sport next week for some bits an pieces! Although have to go through the places that we have put parts in! 3 different locations is going to be fun!

A big thanks to Adi the Adder for his hard work in spraying the car today! I am totally fascinated by the whole process! Although doing this project and with Florence looming along with a friends car Icky, its going to be hard work fitting in Thug too! Have to find time to go to work I guess! ha!

Ok, work done this weekend

garage tidy (to find some of the parts) chrome prepped, doors sanded and primed ready for painting, bonnet trail fitted ready for final painting same with boot lid.
Need to find the other boot hinge that has gone walkies !

Have been to the local mini specialist to get a bumper, headlining (very smart out of jap spec improt had 9k on clock), rad cap and wiper arms in black (good rubber).

So the paint has come out rather well ... just needs a good polish now ..





Tonight we have dropped off the glass and have completed two spares orders, one with sport and one with spares lets see who makes it first so hopefully he will be water tight by the weekend.. he lives under a carport at the mo so hopefully we can get the brunt of the work done in the evenings with a torch and a cup of tea (or 6) should make for a picture heavy week! Bring on the mini fair ! (i'll try to get photos of the doors when there done)

Ace work! Love the colour. Is it celly or 2 pack?

It's 2 pack. I do like working in nitro, but these days it's just as cheap to go 2K and it's less maintainance once it's done. Also, there'd have been no chance of getting any painting done in the current temperatures in the North with nitro

Let's have a little quiz shall we? What colour is it? (No prizes for saying blue ) I'm looking for a guess of what kind of blue here.

Roofs painted but I haven't got any photos ..

I know the engines not stunning like the car but, its a spare from a friend until the 1275 is ready to go in ... i'll chase paul for roof photo
