right placed the engine in the subframe last night to see rougthly where im at, the answer bloody tight il be amazed if it clears the steering rack but hey if it comes down to the crunch i can get hold of a 1l gearbox easy enougth. The clutch arm on the back is fowling the bottom of the subframe so need to chop abit more out tonight also im going to scrap the idea of saving the front part of the subframe and replacing it with box section heres some pictures i dunno wether i can save the back mount on the gear box i remove it and see if i can incorporate it later maybe?
also im going to be using the standard engine mounds but have maybe 1 or 2 additional lnadrover mounts as i dont want the engine wobbling around especially at 100mph over avon rise!

There should be plenty of room all the way around the engine. It can go further back and not touch the rack plus it needs to be lower down so that the selector shaft goes under the rear subframe legs

basic frame is made got to finish off the bottom bits then get some 6mm sheet metal, the frame itself isent the best or neatist in the world and looking back could be alot more accurate but i will be building another one or maybe afew more in the future, should do the job though, so not the end of the world photos up soon!

1.3 is about 75 hp ish with a decent exhaust manifold, but completely different than 75 hp from an A-series, ie much better.

with the twin webers, exhaust manifold and megajolt plus maybe some racer cams im aiming for 120bhp what i think is achivable il be happy with anything over 100bhp what in all fairness a decent reliable A series that produces 100bhp is going to cost at least 1k

Make sure the open tops of the box section end up closed.
You wouldn't want water to hold in there! It will find its way in there too.
A quick plug for you guys at Bridgwater College too!
My Mini handles and feels so much better since having the work done, the guys grafted hard constantly for 3-3 1/2 hours and its a bargain.
Recommend it to anyone.
