Unfortunately VOSA have not defined the way that the points system is intended to work very well. It would be surprising if many of the parts comprising an axle, for instance, were not  renewed over the years, so the originals will be long gone. I don't think that the intention is to lose points as a result of routine maintenance, only if you swapped a complete axle assembly from another car. Then there is the definition of "axle", in relation to the Mini. An Anglia has one axle, an E93A Ford Pop and many dragsters and horrid hot rods two, but only about 0.001% of Minis have even one actual axle, and that is definitely not original.

Likewise, it seems that you can keep replacing parts of the shell, with new panels or welded patches, for ever, and there may not be much of the original shell left. I don't think that they have made any attempt to prevent that. But parts that can be identified as having belonged to another shell would seem to be disallowed, because there is a particular category for classic cars which have been rebuilt from pieces of several.

VOSA have a lot of words, but very little clarity, on their web site. Unfortunately, the web site does not define the law, and will not stand up in court if they decide to make an example of someone. So, we should be careful.
