Am based in Boston UK, but plan to take some time off work and escape my difficult life at the moment so a road trip is in order. I quite like the idea of just jumping in the mini and seeing where I end up. But does anyone have any suggestions to somewhere worth visiting? I should have about 5 days to complete my trip before Im due back home so can go all over the country if I wanted to.

I did complete a 400 mile trip in the mini when I did the L2B back in may with no problems (I will put a cushion on the seat tho haha) so have faith in the mini making it, but plenty of tools and spares will be taken just in case. Am thinking of the end of the month after payday

Any suggestions? Comments? Tag ons welcome if you wana drive and have CB I may have a passenger, I can only carry the one because it rubs the back arches haha

Hmmm... What are your plans for sleeping?

In the car, in a tent or BandBs.

I guess that makes a difference to where you go

Maybe abit of both, sleep in the mini one night, then sleep bnb the next etc. I sorta dont want to head one way then go another. Boston is sort of halfway in the country, so north or south desicion to be made first, then go from there.

I dont want to spend a fortune as petrol will cost a few bob. I average about 37mpg. If thats good for a fast road cammed 1293 with a 3.1 diff lol

From Boston I'd go west through the Peak District, then head North through the lakes, then keep going up into Scotland may Fort William , Loch Ness

If you don't want to spend a fortune on fuel, find some venues and events you'd like to visit. You could look at Youth Hostels for accommodation.

That sounds like a good idea to me. Maybe another mini event. I've always fancied going to Lock Ness, just to say I've been there. A steady trip there & back could be good.

Loch Ness isn't that interesting really.

Skeggy's not a bad suggestion, lots of nice Mini roads all up the East Coast - The Yorks Wolds, Moors, Northumberland.

Amsterdam!!!..... :w00t:

Get yourself down to Dover and you can get a crossing to Dunkirk with Norfolk line ferries for just £29 at the moment. Then it's only about 200 miles up the coast through Belgium to Amsterdam. You can even do a stop over in the beautiful city of Antwerp, which is about half way and well worth a look.

Certainly beats Skeggy and is probably only about the same distance as Cornwall!! :P
