After coming back from the South Island of New Zealand on a road trip, the UK seemed a bit underwhelming to me. I'd go to Scotland though

I hear ya, but there's plenty of places I haven't really been to in the UK. So doing that should be a must surely?

yup, like I say Scotland (or rural Wales) is where I'd go. Someday, I'll ship my Mini over to NZ South Island for £000's just for the trip.
