Ok so... Arrived today and after work I got to wrapping. It went well, very easy to do (I only did the bonnet) but, I have learnt some valuable lessons that have now changed my mind about wrapping the entire car...
First of all, here's the pics...
So, my paintwork was done by the guy I bought the car from and is pretty poor. Orange peel all over it! Hense the wrap to get rid of that. Only one problem, a solid colour of wrap shows up every little imperfection underneath including the orange peel. So if I was to wrap the car orange all over I'd still have a rubbish paint job, just in a different colour! Shame really but hey ho, you live and you learn I guess.
Carbon wrap on the other hand is bloody marvellous as its patterned obviously and so shows no imperfections whatsoever. I even have dings in my roof and you can't see them with the carbon on.... But, wrapping carbon round something like a wing would be pretty damn difficult as you have to heat it to stretch it around the curves and therefore distort the pattern!
So what do I do now? I'll tell you! I'm gonna have a crack at plasti dipping. If you haven't heard of it have a quick google you'll be impressed! I'll probs start another post on plasti dipping so keep a look out for it lol. Should be good fingers crossed.
Just like to add I didn't like the "gloss" finish of this anyway and plasti dip comes in fluoresent glow in the dark orange
oh yeah
