You put on more wrap lol. Only joking I wouldn't do that. I would assume the rust would show through the wrap because it wouldn't be sat on a smooth surface. So unwrap- fix rust- re wrap.

Anywho I've just noticed something on my mini which I can't believe I haven't spotted prior to now! Where the tops of the wings meet the scuttle... There is no join, it's been welded and filled (I assume) and so I have nowhere to end the wrap now. Is there anyway to undo this? I haven't taken a pic of it as yet but you should be able to see what I'm on about in this old pic

I've got a hair dryer and a heat gun, and wouldnt even think about doing it as a one man army. All the tutorials I've watched basically have one guy stretching, one guy smoothing...

What car did you wrap was it a mini?

Ok so it arrived today... I have to say, harder than it looks lol. But it was always going to be trial and error so I'm going to order some more and have one more crack at it! I managed to get the back half done and looking perfect but little did I realise I shouldn't have done that as it made doing the other half impossible! Next plan is to stick it in a 6" strip straight down the middle and then work out to a diamond shape, then one corner at a time... And with some better quality vinyl....

Anyway, I took two pics so here they are. I'll update once I have more to tell!

Quick update, after a lot more researching this evening into different vinyls it would appear I was trying to use the worst type of them all! Sods law I know. So I'm about to order some more which should be here Wednesday so fingers crossed :)

I did it!! Bought some cheap carbon vinyl but this time with the "bubble free" backing. £35 for a piece to do the roof. Went on like a dream, probably took about 45 mins with two of us, but again it's a learning curve and were obv being very careful. Could have done it in 20 minutes I reckon! Soooo pleased with the results! Now to do the whole car :-)

I got carried away and didn't take as many pics as I'd have liked to but here's a few...
