Hey guys, just a quick update..... I had a practice couple of sprays straight onto the red and found it very difficult to see the paint going on and so decided to definitely prime white first. So today after work I went ahead and stripped the car down, masked it up and with the Wagner gun proceeded to put about 4 light coats of high build primer on. All I can say is if spraying the plast dip is as easy as the priming was, this is going to work out amazing!

Anyways here's what I took. Gonna start on the orange in the morning.

Why have you done that! You're meant to go on light, you only see the real colour at about 5 or 6 coats in???

Yes, now you'll have to re-paint the car when you take the dip off.

You're putting plasti dip or what ever the crap is called over what used to be a nice looking red mini.......

I think what they are saying is,
plasti-dip is supposed to be a temporary paint job, it doesn't last very long as it just peels off, and you put it over the paint, change the colour for a while, then peel it off and go back to how it was before.
But obviously you can't do this now as when you peel it off you will only have primer.
Surely if you wanted a permanent colour change, and you have gone to all the effort to prep and prime the car you could just paint it normally?

Ok I understand that, but the white primer is still there underneath leaving it ready to spray properly when I can afford it.... But anywas, it's done now. And it came out BRILLIANT!! It's a better finish than the previous red! So I went ahead and matte blacked all the chrome as well. Gonna go back in tomorrow and do the wheels and take some more pics. It just looks orange in these but seriously, the brightness of it is just plain ridiculous! My iPhone won't pick up how bright it actually is!

Anywho.... Here's the pics I took
