How did you find wiring the ecu and fuel pump in? Only asking as in converting an mgzs to vvc, although mems3 to mems2.

hi
i had a bash myself but got bogged down and a lot of head scratching and while messing with the loom i could have been doing something more constructive,
i searched everywhere on most forums on how to do it and came across a guy in the forum 16vminiclub.com named gazwad, great guy to deal with who sorted my loom out,
got the loom home, plugged it all together and bobs ya uncle,
saved me a lot of time.

I've done this myself. I just followed the RAVE CD wiring diagram.

Is the grey plug for the MG ZS not the same? If it is then that includes the wiring for the pump. It goes to the relay box via the cut off switch.

I've been to see Dean yesterday and was impressed with the build. I like the subframe he's built. The engine is mounted about and inch higher and an inch further back than mine which makes it looks better situated in the engine bay. Mounting it like this means the front cross member goes underneath the front pipe of the exhaust which in turn means no alterations are required with the valance. It also means that you could run the Mini a lot lower as the sump and exhaust have that extra clearance. He says there will be a brace fitted across the top when it's finished to strengthen the frame even more.

We had a chat about radiators. Due to the clutch slave cylinder mounting in the space needed for the radiator, this will be limited. It would need to be a very short radiator. Dean seems to think that putting the clutch cable operated system on would free up much needed space and then mount the Mini radiator, like mine.

We went out for a drive in my Mini and talk of NOS and power upgrades are now taking a back burner!

great to meet up andrew, was impressed with how fast the mini was so yes NOS is on a back burner but not ruled out as yet,
been digging out a few bits today to convert it back to a clutch cable, but i will persist with fitting or trying to fit the rad with the slave in as ive done all the work to make it work,
will be having a trip around tomorrow to try get hold of a few radiator hoses and the fuel cut off switch, good advice from andrew to fit one,
charie t your subframe did give me the idea on making my subby and thanks to your pics it worked out quite well, good advice and pics from other builds are priceless when doing your own build,so thanks to all,

cant wait to get it road worthy and have a blast!

I'm not surprised at having to redo the gear linkage. They are a bit fiddly. My mate did mine for me and it looked sweet but it didn't leave me any room for the exhaust. I had to remove it completely and reroute it. It's not ideal where it is as it's the lowest point under the car now but it works fine and gear linkages don't have play in them (unlike most Rovers). :proud:

How have you done with the brakes?

Hangover? Too much pop at your works do??? Mini Tykes party went well. There was 17 of us, which as there was only 6 last year is a vast improvement! Our next event will be to the British Mini Fair, at Stafford if you fancy joining us? :gimme:

right then its time to start the mini again after a christmas beer sech!
managed to get her running over the xmas period and drove it out of the garage for the first time,
got a bit carried away and took it up the road, tickled the accelerator and it span the wheels,
BIG GRIN on my face so put it back in the garage for further work to get it road worthy.
need to do wiring for the lights and tidy a few things up under the bonnet,ie expansion bottle mountin etc
then to start the inside and work backwards,
looking to be on the road for summer (if we have one )!!!!
