Great to see youve found some time to dig into it abit vulcan .
You carnt go far wrong with a plasma, i suppose if i ever used a straight edge with it i would be more pleased with the outcome over my work though

I love the P5!!!!!! In fact, my mother knows someone who has a P5 manual he's trying to re-home. He's trying to get the museum of british road transport to take it on, but it could be available for the right 'three figure' sum.

If the P5 has one drawback I think it's the dash. It's just not as elegant as the exterior. Of course, the P6 suffers from a similar problem. The trim panels on the doors are just awful, with all the aesthetics of a mug tree. So, I'll be having mine custom. I want to replicate the fluted design used on Mk1 Civics. In fact I might use Civic arm rests, they're bigger than the Series 1 P6. I have thought about using the arm rests from the Series 2, but they're quite distinctive. Perhaps too much so.

I've always liked the P6. A mate of mine had a 2000TC at college.

I always go along to the P6 Owners Club show at Beamish.

That Tobacco Leaf series 1 is practically a twin of mine! Except mine's faded, rotten and has a nasty set of wiper arms..........

Here is a long time family friends P5 (sorry im in the way >_<) this was his best car he has ever owned he is a jag man who has loads of mk2's (mainly in pieces in a barn) along with XJ6's etc etc but this was me when i went to my year 11 leavers ball (even one else had limos or hummers :X ) :-) it was completley original and even had the Rover sliding tool kit under the dash :shifty: don't know if anyone else knows of them? he just recently sold it :'( was a beautiful car.

good luck with the P6
theres a few left rotting on drives my way a Blue one which has been there looks like from brand new and a beige one which hasn't been taxed since 09-10 i think :(

I'm going to be at the workshop tomorrow, doing a bit of paying work but also spending some time on the Rover. I bought a new front hockey stick from Wadhams, but it's only a 'patch' panel and it covers more of the bits I don't seems to need rather than the bits I do. So, I'll just fab up the bits I need and maybe sell the repair panel. Don't worry, I'll get pics!!!!!!

Hi folks, a new pic of Little Bruce for you!

I've chopped out the left hockey stick and the rotten flange of the inner wing. Turned out the whole thing was as rotten as a pear! Just a little bit of tidying and the new one can go in. I will need to take the return off the end though. It's perched right on the end of the panel and it'll be a right ball-ache to get the MIG pointed in at the right angle.

looks like a great project, keep it up!

what was the film where all the cars in it were rover p6s? was it equilibrium?

it was defiantely some oddball sci-fi film, they were all black ones too, is that where the inspiration came from?
