you have just convinced me then noad, its what i really needed to hear...the next thing is what stage one, theres a few from minisport and minispares but im not sure which ones better, as for the exhausts i dont know a great deal abou them but i know some actually do worse than good. also i have heard k and n in the past havent been very good for induction on the stage one but everyone here seems to like them are they the best filter for them, and should i go for the complete cone replacement or just the element?. lucky for me a full service was something my wife managed to get out of the dealer when she got it for me.....is it best getting a garage to fit the stage 1 kit i take it, i would love to do give it a go myself but im just unsure. Best of luck for the interview im sure u'll be fine, Its just a stupid thing which you will look back and go, why am i nervous. a great saying i have used all through my life...if its meant to be its meant to be, everything happens for a reason. A classic example of me is i was posted to a place when i first joined the armed forces that i didnt choose to go, however i went, met my wife and married her.....that would never have happened if i had gone where i wanted to and im glad that it did.....because i got my mini :D!!! haha

lol! Brilliant.

I'd stick to minispares. I only ever hear bad things about minisport, exhaust wise, it depends. Yes your correct some exhaust do more good than bad for example the 3" Side exit exhaust on mine is not helping fuel economy, but it sounds the dogs *******. To find the right balance you want to find one with a 1.75" Exhaust, thats the real sweet spot. In my opinion stick to the elements, cone filters can actually decrease the performance of an engine. if you Youtube MightyCarMods: Cone Filters Mythbusters. Its very interesting to watch. The gained the most power with the element style, also having an element style keeps noise down a bit.

I'd say have a go at fitting it yourself, fitting an exhaust is very easy if you have a ramp, but can be done on axle stands, it just consist of rolling around under the car, swearing and smacking things, but its satisfying when its done. To do it you'll need, some exhaust paste a good set of spanners and the odd socket and ratchet. Halfords Advanced/Professional stuff is good. the £100 set will keep you in good stead for the casual stuff you might need to do.

If you watch some wheeler dealer clips on YouTube of how to fit an exhaust they will help you. If you watch Mighty Car Mods, some of there stuff is utterly pointless but there are some good tips and guides in there for DIY jobs such as bumper repair and fixing curbed wheels etc.

The Body shop shouldn't be that bad, if the holes are small in the boot, you can just patch them up with some metal, and the sills are cheap enough.

Just use genuine parts, other wise it bite you on the behind in the futre, he says crying at the difference in price :P.

Pattern is about half the price than genuine but its also half the quality.
