Has anybody turned their door pocket on an MK1 into an spearker inclosure?
I would think encloseing half of the pocket should provide enough air volume for a 5' or 5.25'.
And then cutting slats in the kick panels and mount the speakers behind them.
What do you think?

Have a look at the countryman in the build project area. They've done just that.

Holes are cut and the speakers are mounted. Waiting for the machine shop to mill slats in the aluminum kick panels.

I'm suprise how good the speakers sound with no inclouser.

I just relized this thread should now be in the build section.

Beside a few details, like getting better RCAs, the install is finished.

Very neat install, is the actual mount in the door pocket custom built?

The speakers are mounted directly to the inside of the pocket, with smoothed out bolt heads, and the hole is slightly smaller then the speaker so they could both be hidden by the aluminum panel. Custom wood inclousures fit, inside the pocket, around the speaker. I covered it with a thin carbonfiber panel, just because I like the finished look. And I added the cup holders, beacuse us Americans need our cup holders. ;D

That's pretty cool, something I may keep in mind for when I come to do my pick-up's ICE install.

Nice! If your ever in Mira Mesa, you'll probably see, either me or my Wife cruzing around. I have this mostly stock 62'' Morris Minor Mini and she has a blacked out modified 84" Mini, both daily drivers.

Looks real nice. Given me food for thought. Also, +1 for rocking Minor Threat!
