Heads up to those that have or haven't been watching the series but tonight the guys are doing a mini.

Channel 5 kick-off at 8pm.

I'll be in the garage working on the van then coming in to watch this tonight I think.

It was in the background of the Jag episode. Looked like it was part way through interior re-fit. Ive heard the floors were shot on it. Full floor without bracing anyone?

Do you need to brace it while the filler goes hard? ;-)

Let the bodging begin, slap on some oversills or perhaps just swap the numberplates/V5 to another better condition Mini half way through the 'restoration'.......as they did with the MGB GT a couple of weeks ago!

I think it's funny how they "setup" certain scenes and show you something going dramatically wrong....but then give you the chance to win the blooming car!

Anyone watch the Jag E Type episode when he reversed into an engine that just happened to be left on the floor behind the car? Who wants to win a car knowing that the back end has been mashed up....

I have grown to hate this show :xxx: . Even if that were really good at doing the restorations (which there not) I still wouldn’t watch because 90% of it is set up. When they lifted that MGB GT and the back axle fell off you could see the ends of the leaf springs had been cut off. Does my nut in!!!!! And then there is all that shouting and spitting there dummy out like 2 year olds, I can’t be doing with. I just want to see a nice restoration of a classic with some good ideas and tips along the way.

I've not seen the script, but at a guess

1. Bernie and Mario (henceforth known as B&M) go in search of a Mini Cooper, they don't buy the first one they see because the seller is 'avin a larf' with his price, so they go and find one that's nearly as expensive, but in worse condition and buy that instead

2. Despite constant Italian Job references, including no doubt a door slamming followed buy 'your only supposed to blow the bloody doors off' the car will have no resemblance to a MK1 from the film other than its blue, possibly

3. Although the car looks like it might be a 1975 MK3 B&M will keep saying it's a Cooper when we all know its not as Cooper S production finished in 1971 (the first time around)

4. Something will go 'horribly wrong', something will get dropped / lost / broken or fixed in the wrong way (welding fire anyone) but it may not actually be from a Mini, it just might look like it might have been, this will be B&M's chance to have a 'argument' about who is the worst actor, sorry, business partner in their 'restoration' company.

5. The bodyshell will be taken back to bare metal.......with a grinder........and then have a liberal coat of filler applied

6. The finished 'Cooper' will be valued at £10,000 making everyone who doesn't know the above ring in to try to win it, in turn C5 and the production company will make a large profit on their outgoings from the phone votes, and commission a new series we can laugh at next year
