I know you said you didn't want to fit it to the valance, but some of the aftermarket chrome surround fog lights are much more sleek and classic looking than the nasty plastic standard item, if it's just the bulkiness of the standard fog light you're worried about. I mounted mine as close up to the bumper as possible.

My rear valence is a exsposed weave carbon fibre one, I don't really want to drill holes in it. What about using something like a rear screen brake light as a fog light would that work??

Couldn't you use a rear spot like people have on early models mounted on the boot as a foglight?

My light is mounted from the bumper lip on a straight bracket coming out from a bumper mounting hole, I didn't need to drill any holes anywhere. You may be able to use something as a fog light in the rear window, I'm not sure if the lamp has to be on the outside of the car though? There might be some rule about the glass interfering with the light?

Thanks for that I will have to try and find the rules and regulations regarding fog lights
