Its useful, not derogative. It gets confusing if we just call them all mini. Then we can't distinguish between old and new. Mini is mini and bini is big mini. Simples.

I have to say, if you find BINI offensive then you need to grow a thicker skin.

As above, its just a way of distinguishing between what we're talking about.

For example:

My mini isn't starting? or My bini isn't starting? - If I give advice to someone with a bini about distributors then thats of no use.

I have a set in my car at the moment, they're nice enough but the angle eye in my opinion is tacky which is why these are being removed for either crystal ones or P7000.

Being famed for my tacky taste, I would be interested in the angel eyes when you swap them out. Pm me if they come up for sale.

No, I just think its stupid and even maybe a little immature to call it a BINI.. Sounds bad and just a little rude to the people that own them. BMW MINI if you want.. But not BINI... Anyway, whats wrong with MINI and mini? Everyone understands that

So when your actually talking to someone, do you create a different accent to identify which one your on about? Bini is far simpler, hardly offensive or rude.

Back to the OP, yes angel eye headlights (the cheap ones) have the wrong beam pattern, but the premium types have the correct rhd pattern.

Yeah... I shout at people when i talk about the MINI... So when you say oh it's a BINI, so someone who doesn't know about this, they have no idea what you are on about and you have to go into it and explain it etc etc. I think it's just plain dumb.. And really only exists on this forum, certainy don't see it in the trade

If you get this wound up by someone referring to the make of a car you own a Bini, god forbid what would happen if someone said something that was actually offensive

Go and have a beer or something more productive
