The only pump I fit is the AC Dodd 'Zero Tollerance' pump. Thomas Classic and Modern stock them.

It still doesn't stop them getting smashed by detritis in the gearbox, sadly.

I know that, just mentioning one of the best available A series oil pumps incase it helps.

Thanks for the replies. The engine is a 998 and some of the better pumps are out of stock. I also don't want to drill the block. I'm still thinking about it.

Yeah the failiures are epic to say the least I hate Brian

This is the camshaft that came out. it's suppost to be a Kent VP3 ground from a blank.
I've never seen wear on the lobes like this before
Any comments would be appreciated

Interesting

The followers were allegedly genuine ISKY but to be honest, I have my doubts about many of the parts I was supplied with.

The gearbox is sorted. A few thou has been taken off the 4th gear baulk ring. This has stopped the first motion shaft tightening against the main shaft gear assembly.
It looks like the MED baulk rings stand off from the gears slightly more than the original Rover ones.
4th gear synchro doesn't work too hard because you never change down.
It's not been easy but it's sorted

This time it's been shimmed properly

I'll get there!

Thanks for looking

Pete
