I drive both old and new, and pass the same Minis on my journey to work, when I'm driving my Mini I get a flash and a wave, when I'm driving the MINI I get nothing, but then I don't expect it. There's millions of MINIs on the road now and the majority aren't driven by classic Mini fans.

I'm old enough to remember a time before the MINI, when it was the Mini Clubman that was the hated Mini. You certainly don't see that now, just look at all the fuss over the one from the Longbridge tunnels. There was a time not that long ago when it would have only been a clubman and not a proper Mini.
