Wow... that is some cost. Has it had much work done in the past?

You think that's expensive?
The guys had it a year and spent more than that on it. It's got a twin exit stainless from the j pipe, full brown leather Cobra interior, decent modern stereo with four speakers, alloys and moto lito steering wheel.

It sounds like it is, If you could get some pics of it then it would help.

How far off the mark do you think then?

Way to many opinions! Ha let the poor man think!
I've heard alot about 1275 being around three same as 998s, just shop around and you'll be ok... Remember sports exhausts and alloys can count as mods.

Enjoy it and show us some pictures!

^^^^
What a load of rubbish, insuring a 1275 for a 17yr old is hardly different than a 988, was less than a £50 difference for me.

Welcome to TMF

Not rubbish, perfectly reasonable actually! When I was looking at mine, a 1275 was atleast £2K more expensive than a 998...

Blimey you're worrying me now!

It depends where you go for insurance.
When i was enquiring about getting insurance on my dad's 1275 Mpi, it was a £300 difference from my 998 :D
And that was with Adrian Flux.

Welcome to TMF by the way!

Hi and and Welcome

A white M reg carb mini I hear you say? Does the Log Book by any chance say Mini 35?

The Mini 35 limited edition came in three colours, Arizona Blue, Nevada Pearlescent Red and Diamond White. It had a Purple and Grey interior (Not attractive lol) If it is a LE and you wan't rid of the Limited edition stuff let me know I'm after a badge for mine :)

It's a Sprint not an LE.

Take it you mean Sprite not Sprint? A sprint has a few inches saved off it's body and is quite rare, the link below shows the difference in height to a standard mini.
http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?q=mini+sprint&hl=en&sa=X&tbo=d&biw=1366&bih=667&tbm=isch&tbnid=-5Ys3v_YzWDk8M:&imgrefurl=http://www.statim.co.uk/Minisprint.htm&docid=QiRSMQ7-miqFwM&imgurl=http://www.statim.co.uk/images/MiniSprint%252520comparison-e.jpg&w=1028&h=502&ei=aWG1UMvaPMWL0AXZioH4BQ&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=4&vpy=206&dur=1189&hovh=157&hovw=321&tx=218&ty=83&sig=109961060860699864544&page=1&tbnh=139&tbnw=278&start=0&ndsp=18&ved=1t:429,r:0,s:0,i:99

With regards to price, we really need more detail than what you have given, people are jumping the gun here. But for £2,500.00 you can get a nice clean mini with that in the current market. But really it comes down to rust, will it be needing a welder on it anytime soon? Key places are under the headlights, A-panels, bottoms of the doors, the cills, around the gutter and around the scuttle close to the windscreen. For the money you would expect very minor surface rust but nothing to cause any problems anytime soon when it comes to MOT time.

It seems to have a few nice toys on it which is good but if the body isn't sound it could potentially cost you a lot more than what it could costed to buy the toys to put on a rust free mini!

Just don't get carried away with the gadgets and inspect the body and you should be fine.

Welcome to the forum!

Chris

As said, when it comes to insurance don't just rely on price comparison websites, pick up the phone and talk to companies.

There are many low mileage policies etc out there, black boxes, putting parents on as additional drivers etc etc.

I know there is a change in the law coming in December which says insurance companies cannot charge male drivers more as it's sexist, is this going to be followed by them not being able to charge young drivers more as it's ageist?

They're both protected characteristics covered under the equality act 2010

Its done 77K. It comes with original folder and booklets and every mot. There is a photo album covering the relatively recent bodywork that was done. The only current body work issues are the front near side wing which has a strange horizontal crack in the paint above the headlight, maybe from winding in the headlight fittings too tight, a bit of bubbling round the indicator on the same wing and some rust just starting to show through on the rear seem that the bumper attaches to right in the middle. The boot is all newly lined and it has, I think, 12" alloys that look like mini lights. Hey, we are pleased with it :)

It's sprite. Not a sprint. I'd be pleased if I'd got a sprint in this condition for the money ;)
