Well going up to see James and my car next Saturday, lets see if he's completed the rest of the rust, aside from the one wing of course

Can you take a camera and document your findings? It may help steer people away from him in future.

+1 on this, the more you document for future "customers" to see, the more they will be equipped with information Darkangel. Good luck for Saturday pal, keep us informed

Horror stories like this are the reason I do all the work on my Mini except welding. Even if it takes days longer than it should at least I know its being done right!

I'll definitely be taking pics, and will post if necessary! And thanks I think I'll need luck I don't seem to be having much of it recently!! I wish I could do the work on my own, at the moment I'm useless, never had any type of experience like that! But I'm going to start learning for sure, realising first hand just how quick some are willing to rip you off, what a sad world we live in! But it's certainly learned me a very valuable lesson

Such a shame this has happened :( , chin up pal :) can't believe people are still doing this : /

I met James once, he brought a mini off me, he seemed although blunt, an alright guy. Just goes to show you can't trust too many people these days

Well I've got my car moved thanks to Dave, and James had the unbelievable nerve to say I ow him money lol! I've told him I want a refund etc but emails as usual are being ignored! I'm going to see my solicitor tomorrow, who's already advised me that I have a strong case and it won't be just James who's involved in this due to his creative money moving whilst taking my payments! I've stated more than fairly that I will pay James the money owed for the small amount of work done and according to him will come to an arrangement! I believe that was because he had his friend secretly filming us! Strange because I don't remember giving my permission to be filmed ( something else I will be talking to my solicitor about) but at least I have my car in safe hands now! In the small amount of time Daves had my car he's identified many issues which James had overlooked, which would have made the car dangerous to drive! So kind of scary to think what would have happened had I left it there? Shame it's taken six months of wasted time and effort and quite abit of cash for absolutely nothing, but on a plus at least I've learned a valuable lesson and my mini will get fixed to a safe and high standard.
Personal thanks to dave and his friend

Most definitely, it's not the greatest of outcomes, I'd hope he'd be upstanding and sort my money out, but I have my doubts! Just glad my cars out of there

as other readers of these posts might be aware I am in legal proceedings against James Alma (Beej123) & Carl Walker (Carlzilla) for a mini they never delivered & simply kept the deposit cash. I have a court order against them & they have been visited by the bailiffs multiple times - without luck so far as their parents (where they are supposedely live) hae probably hidden everything they can. My legaal proceedings are contuing to date and no refund whatsoever so far... anyone who wants information about those two thieves feel free to PM me, I am updating the admin of this forum as things go

I'm a new user and have also been 'had' by Midland Mini Clinic.

We took my uncles car there who lives in Norway for them to restore. We were promised allsorts and were told at one point in August that it was ready for paint and then collection shortly after. It is now 6 months later, no car and no money.

We will be taking legal action and are hoping to get the ball rolling shortly.

Not what I need in the middle of a house move!

Sorry, I'm no lawyer.

How would we go about starting a petition or a case, to have Midlands Mini Clinic Shut down for good?

No need as they already have gone bust. If they were still taking work on it would be trading standards who would go after them
