Cheers

No it's the first time it's been off. Where d'you mean? I thought the bulge was there to accommodate the link pipe to the LCB?

Another month gone... far too quickly! Call me a hypocrite, but I've gone and got myself a daily for over winter.

Anyway, Vinnie is getting there slowly. Just the A-panels to go and then all the welding will be finished. To cut a long story short he was a lot worse than I expected, bodge jobs galour, for which I would like to take the time to thank the previous owners - no, I truely am grateful.

I've got a decision to make... I'm having the roof resprayed. Question is, what colour should I go for people? I'm quite attached to white roof and stripes, because that's how it's always been if you know what I mean? I went through a bit a phase last year of wanting a black roof, but I think I've gone off that to be honest. The only other thing I'm thinking is a silver/gunmetal grey, like Audi Lava grey pearl or something a bit lighter? But I don't know.... With the car being Cherry Red pearl, I reckon a metallic would look a bit odd?

So yeah, what does everyone think?

Reckon a gunmetal metallic with a cherry red pearl flip would look good.

Or maybe a contrasting pearl on the grey such as gold/bronze, think metallic would go better than a solid colour :)

At least you were sensible and didn't get a daily mini , doing a rear subframe on mine atm, oh the joys...

I think a gunmetal grey would look lush, with the wheel centers the same. Plain, simple, not over the top or shouting and very elegant :) nice to hear he is progressing well! Cant wait to get Rita, MinBin and Vinnie together next year :D

Yeah so do I, the only thing that's putting me off is the sunroof... I just don't know whether it would look right?

Corrr O_O

Looks like they did a good job! So you decided to stay with the white roof?

Have you had the arches repainted to?

Mine has already (ashamedly) got a few awful scratches in places  One where I left a bit of CV grease on the side and then scoured the paint getting it off, and another longgggggggg one where one of my bumpers fell over from the side of the garage and scratched the side of the car on the way down.

Gonna take a fair bit of polishing to get them out, and that's if they come out fully <_<

Knowing you, you'll probably do a far better job of keeping it scratch free than me haha. Looks good!

I cannot describe how good the finish is, the photo just doesn't do it justice, I'm chuffed to bits

Yeah I decided to stick with white. I know it's been done to death but I like it, and didn't have the balls to go BMW MINI Dark Silver :P . Yeah arches done too, I got some new ones as I wasn't happy with the fitment on the older ones (where the slot for the seam was cut limited any alteration). I sanded and primed them and everything over the summer as I was planning on painting them, but for £25 for all four, it wasn't really worth turning the compressor on. Plus I would never have got anywhere near the finish that Nick has got.

Oh no! I'm dreading the first one, I think i'll probably have a bit of a cry

Yep, should be looking good for show season :proud:
