You have no idea how nervous I was when I pulled the speedo apart, it could have got very expensive very quickly.

Wow, I have just sat and read all of this. Amazing work! I can't wait to see the finished mini.

The red Crayford mini that was posted early in the thread is gorgeous.

Thanks guys, it's going to be a stunner.  :shifty:

So, sorry about the long pause between updates, we've been mightily busy getting a couple more Mini's through bodywork.

The owner of the Crayford supplied us with an almost complete brocade interior that he had removed from one of his race cars years ago.

The rear seat's where particularly nasty and took a lot of scrubbing. The left is as it arrived with us and right is after a good clean.

There are a few age related wear marks and a little discolouring but all in all it's cleaned up very well and has a lovely patina to it.

The door cards, arch covers and pocket liners have also been cleaned up and installed while we are waiting for new diaphragms for the front seats.

Up front has been treated to a new moustache and freshly painted grill along with a new set of indicator backing with the original glass lenes reinstalled. It's starting to look like a Mini again!

I've just read from start up to now. Like others have said, attention to detail is astonishing.

It actually looks as good as it would've rolling off the line all those years ago.

Are there any photos of the Crayford finished? I would be interested to find out how much it cost as my husband has one in need of the same TLC.

Just spent my lunch break having a full read of this and wow what a car and what a build you guys pay so much attention to detail its unreal, Its a credit to yourselfs the customer will be very happy. It has also got me thinking that i need to get cracking with my mk1 or at least start getting the parts all ordered up.

Plus if that is  63 mk1 i think the binicale i was given for mine has incorrect clock fitted should a 64 mk1 have the same silver colured clock like that one?

Top work i will watching this one until the end and hope the owner decides to show the car as i would love to see it in the flesh when finished :)
