I went with a few mates mid this year, though to frankfurt then nurburg then to caen in france. I took my mini, had no problems what so ever and I did just under 2000 miles including a good thrashing round the 'ring. Only once though. One lap was €25 for when I went. When we we in nurburg we stayed in a cheap hotel called mercure hotel I think. Was about an hours drive from the ring. Very very good fun though so I'd recommend it! In fact we're hoping to do it again next year!
