The trick with the chrome trim us to buy the decent one (lots of cheap immitations that kink horribly) and not to use heat or hot water. Just go for it feeding it onto the seam bit by bit manipulating it with your hands.
works everytime for me.

first set I tried was from bingley a few years back after epic fail number one I went for the stuff from minispares
I guess fitting this stuff is not my specialist area lol
