I imagine Hmv, jessops and blockbuster had a similar thought process and didnt think they needed to change. Didnt really work out for them did it. Wonder what the analytics for mobile users of this site are like? I would imagine fairly sizeable and growing. You dont have to listen to the opinion of your users. Its really up to you.

HMV, Blockbuster and Jessops failed due to online buying and renting.

HMV, they have too much crap that they don't sell and the majority of what they do sell is now bought online from Amazon/Ebay/iTunes

Blockbuster failed because of things like LoveFilm and Netflix as well as online buyers.

Jessops failed because of online stores, Amazon/Play etc etc.

Another example is comet.

I can think of hundreds.

Or perhaps they failed because they paid corporation tax? Unlike Amazon

Correct me if I am wrong but I think it is completely out of the mods that run this forum control. IPS are the guys you need to hassle to get the Android and other OS versions released.

We could make the app, but it wouldnt do anything other than the mobile version allready does. Using RSS feed for new topics and such. It would be alot of work to make an app, but no greater improvement over the existing access methods of using the mobile site.

If things develop further in the app world, either by making our own app or using another app to access the forum, we ofcourse will do anything we can to make this happen for our users. But whilst saying this, we arent going to put our own free time into making the site work with an app unless it is compatible across all devices. Ie. we wont make/support an app which can only be used by certain platforms or phones etc.

So for now as Deathrow previously said, there is no benefits from an app at this stage.
