if you speak to H&H ignition soloutions they can do you a new distributor for the engine spec. they are really good and well trusted.

You will find that it will run very well like that, but you might want to consider a distributor with a different advance curve from standard. Eith a programmable one or an Aldon 'Yellow' would do well.
You should get some very useable power and good mid-range torque as well. Enjoy!

Thanks again for the input guys, I think i may go with the Aldon distributor and see how that performs for me,
I am about to purchase my radiator and came across this one on ebay, Can someone take a look please and tell me if it would be suitable

been a lot of discussions about allloy rads recently especially the cheaper versions, have a scan through previous threads. That one looks like it was welded by Stevie Wonder

This is a pretty much identical spec to what I want to go for when I get my bonus from work!

May I ask how much you are paying for it? Is it on an exchange basis?

Ok so after a quick search of the forum i have decided not to skimp on my rad as i don't want to see problems with it springing a leak later down the line, I am now undecided between these 2 mini spares radiators, I am more towards buying the aluminium one for an extra £20.00

Not a problem mate, I have paid £1650 for complete new engine and box, £185 for the 1.5 roller rockers and £150 for a new carb setup with manifold and air filter so just shy of 2k mate for this setup so far with no exchange involved

Thanks, that's really helpful! :-) I have few links with Swiftune so chances are I'll get the parts and machining work done there but I'll actually build it myself to keep labour costs down as that's what really drives up the prices and I'm competent enough to build it myself

I am totally the opposite mate, I have no confidence to build myself and I would always be expecting something to go wrong with it or even go bang lol,

Fair play mate, Its not an area that i would be confident getting stuck into, I would be constantly worried that i had put something back to front or in the wrong place lol, The easiest and safest option for me was to buy new and ready built

I really don't blame you mate! I used to think that but after doing other work I think it should be fine. All of the major machining work will be done, and you are using new and clean parts so it is easy to see what you are doing. I work on a check 3 times, then get a second opionion basis before I actually do anything lol
