If mounting through the floor I think it would be sensible to double skin the section where the feet meet the floor with some say 1.6mm steel. This will need to be plug welded in multiple positions and seam welded.

Very sensible, good suggestion because ive read a few horror stories latly of people's thin floors being torn but the rear front subframe mounts

Subframes aren't hard at all to fabricate, south better than buying cobra frames then modifying them. That way you get the exact perfect position and height for your needs, not what is available, something important for non standard seats :)
