As the only real product on the market is ABS Motorsports (quite expensive) cup holder I would be willing to pay anything less than that really!

Yeah, will be cheaper and better than the heater unit front cup holder - simply because our design wont get in the way of the switch panel when you have a drink in the holder.

you see so many modern fancy push and release cup holders in modern cars now. there must be a product out there and incorporate it into the dash some where.

Something I've already covered in previous threads and above.

I get one free every time I order a coffee from Mcdonalds drive thru so I wouldn't pay much more than the price of the coffee.

Thanks, that is actually very helpful - that says that "yeah cup holders are a good idea, but I wouldn't pay for one". Which is basically how I personally believe a lot of people think.

I'm planning on using a old head unit holder upside down bolted to the cross member with the drinks holder you can get from eBay. It's slightly out of arms reach and doesn't work if you have a passenger but they can hold it, but no further than a head unit on the passenger side

Once again, were not stopping anyone installing there own cup holder, in fact we would encourage it - but it wouldn't be something that we could offer as a product (you have picked floors with it yourself).

Good evening TMF,

Well the poll has now had roughly 7 hours and as I start to type this 47 TMF members have cast there vote, results as follows:
  • £10 (+P&P) (23 votes [50.00%])
  • £20 (+P&P) (20 votes [43.48%])
  • £30 (+P&P) (3 votes [6.52%])
  • £40 (+P&P) (0 votes [0.00%])
The results say to me that although people like the idea of having a cup holder there not really actually that bothered about having one installed in there Mini. If people really wanted one they would be more inclined to spend more money.

So, where does that leave us...

Well, we were looking at the idea of introducing a console cup holder between the front seats (similar to our arm rests but smaller), so carpeted sides with vinyl leatherette faces and a plastic insert for the cup holder itself.

We would be able to offer such a product for £29.99 (+ £10 P&P to UK Mainland destinations).

The poll suggests that people would not be willing to spend this kind of money on a cup holder so the idea looks pretty pointless (as I suspected).

Anyway, I'll photoshop an image of the design we have in mind, create a new thread/poll and we can take it from there.

Finally, a big thank you to all who voted and an even bigger thank you to all that have made suggestions for cup holder locations etc. over the past few weeks within various threads.

Thanks

Yeah, they are the ones that ABS Motorsport offer: LINK

But as I mentioned in the other thread (LINK) that type of cup holder is not very practical - as when you have a cup in the holder they get in the way of the switch panel.

Could you not make a door pocket that has a cup holder at the front?

Been covered already - something like that would cost too much to manufacturer, so no one would buy it O_O

Not open to ideas any more, we have been through ideas (we have exhausted every possibility), our idea for a solution can be found here: LINK

Could a mod please close this thread/poll now? It's ran its cause and done it's job.
