I have been Jet Seal 109 on everything lately. Partly because it's cheap, effective and lasts ages. Though I really wan't to have a go with the G-Techniq range.

I have tried some of the G-Techniq range and thought it was really good. I have the C5 on my wheels, and it makes them really easy to clean, the dirt doesnt stick at all. Its pretty expensive, but so far I think it was worth it. Also, the I1 Smart Fabric spray is AMAZING!! You can spray it on fabric and it makes it completely water repellent. Not only is it brilliant fun to make random things around the house waterproof (the first thing we tested was a tissue - could run it under the tap and it was fine!), but it could also be useful for things like convertable roofs, seats and mats.

I always like to apply wax by hand, not sure why! In what way are the results better?

You get a constant even coat over the whole surface, it speeds it up beyond belief.

The effect of the wax won't change but it will speed the process up.

I suppose you can probably achieve a more even finish with a D/A

Anyone tried Meguiars Carnauba Plus Premium Paste Wax. I am on the hunt for a new wax, looking to spend about 20 pounds. Both my cars are silver!

I have been using Megs NXT generation paste wax, which was great but fancy something else

Saw this guy on TV he charges a bomb. Maybe this could be your new career?

That is awesome. Fair play to him. He found a niche in the market and its worked out quite well for him.

I do like the results of a good wash and polish. BCJames, that is why BRG is such a great colour. The shine you have on that car looks great.

I used to be at college with a guy who washed cars. We were all working in garages for peanuts and he was washing sports cars in Upminster for twice what we were getting. He had a van and printed some leaflets and off he went. It was just about picking the right houses and getting regular customers.

I can't remember his name or I would Google him; he is prob a millionaire now!

If you use it correctly. Years.

I can't believe you let someone else wash it?....

Orange peel will only be fixed with a wet sand, depending on the painter if he's painted light coats then you'll have to be careful. If he's done it like I'm specifying mine, with a few extra coats of clear for room in polishing then you'll be fine.

he said he put extra clea on so that it would polish well... it'll need a very thorough wet sand and detail if it was to be anywhere near show standard... but all the time he is a daily driver he'll be as well presented as he can be for not very much money:P one day... when i've made my millions and he is still mine... and its resto number 2 ;) the full one how i want him... i chuck a ton of money at him and then i'll be happy

Should have bought fattail's £22 tub before I got to it :P I've spent far too much money on this detailing stuff as of late. Got quite a few Meguiars products, some Dodo Juice wax, Iron X, just bought a £50 rotary polisher and some Menzera polish for it. A few polishing pads, wash mitts, microfiber drying towels etc. Not to mention the AG polish off fattail as well. Must be over £100s worth already.
