The little trackers look good tho they say they can only last for 2 days without being plugged in.... this one claims it can last for 8

i know it says its 130 od quid, but if your a member of a mini magazine certified club then you can get it for £99 still alot but if its true to its word and lasts for 8 days rather than a measily 2 then id argue that this one is alot better?

I bought my tracker from a company called Back2You, at the Top gear live show last year.
It has a battery back up that lasts for several days, but I got mine hard wired in to save having to charge it.
I have an App. on my iphone, which works like this. You open the App. click on Locate Car, it calls the car (silent ring)
then goes to answer machine. You hang up. and a few seconds later you get a text message back from the unit,
you click on the message, and it takes you to Google maps showing the position of your car.
The other option in the App. is if you leave the car somewhere, you can set an alarm which notifies you if the vehicle is
moved more than a few yards from where you left it.
Works on a pay as you go sim, so just check the credit from time to time, as without credit, the unit cannot text you back.

Hope this information proves useful.

You'll get an insurance discount if you get a thatcham approved alarm fitted by an approved specialist... Perhaps the reduction in insurance might offset the cost of the thing in the first place???
