Okay thanks and no I have not cut anything and I won't be as I have a custom dash that has Center speedo that I'm keeping so I don't want a box really . I had seen the manifold from maniflow that i want to get wich claims you can fit a air filter and not cut bulkhead and still get good air flow so I might get that one and damn lol 45's are so rare lol

45's rare???.............since when?

i wouldn't bother with ebay for a weber, they fetch stupid money because you will be bidding against someone who thinks that its worth fortunes......when it isnt, i wouldn't pay any more than £120 max for a second hand weber on a manifold.

If you're not going to fit a Weber box and longer manifold uou may be better to stick with twin 1.5s to be honest. The shorter manifolds are going to compromise your torque curve judging by previous tests that people have done. That said, you mention a maniflow manifold that's supposed to be good? Any further info on that?

What ever carb you choose to use there willbe different benefits each set up has positives and negatives, its up to you to sift through the information above and pick the best option.

A weber will always use more fuel than an SU, it's in their design, however if set up correctly and here is the hard part, finding someone who actually knows their Webers and Minis and operate a rolling road and also know how to operate said rolling road.

And as said bill told me between 100-115 Bhp with a hiff44 will this remain the same with a weber 45 or twins

I spoke to maniflow a while back about the manifold and here is whats said on the site

2 3/4" long steel inlet, independently tested, and proven to give the best flow rate of any other manifolds available . Ideal for fitting air filter in engine bay, without any modifications to body. fits both 45 DCOE and DHLA carbs.

Info and pictures here http://www.maniflow....54&product=1445

When they say the bast flow rate I assume they mean of the short range ?

There is nothing wrong with that manifold it's as straight as the long normal manifolds ??

And probs the best out of all the swan neck ones

The maniflow short is always going to be a compromise, without bulkhead mods to allow the longer 4/5/6inch manifolds to be fitted, its no where near as bad as the old swan neck ones. its a means to a end of fitting a DCOE carb on a A Series without Body Mods and needs to be accepted for what it is, there are better but not without mods.

They probably mean the best, with no cylinder head or manifold attached........

How are they going to test a manifold that isn't fitted ?
