A classic Mini should have classic SU carbs unless it's for racing or rallying, er, maybe?

Nar injection is not for me if its really that good everyone would go injection

Not everyone likes the idea of injection, the extra cost etc, we all know that if you turbo an engine or add a 16v head it will increase the power, so whay hasn't everyone gone down that route ?

It is down to cash and personal choice.

I like opening the bonnet and looking at my Cornish carb Ess Yoo, agree to me it is preference and what you want from your mini.

But injection IS better. More costly, but better. I'm running a weber 45, because I can't afford injection! :P

by the way I'm not talking std injection, I'm on about jenvey TBs etc

There was an interesting 'back-to-back' test day a few years ago when around 9 competition Mini rally cars were tested by one of the two 'comics' and the Mini Cooper Register. There was a standing start 1/4 mile, a sprint course and a tighter 'handlig' course.
We all drove each others cars flat out during the day.
Fastest down the 1/4 mile was Peter Horsborough's Mk.1 'S' with a 649 cam, Weber 45, etc. However, on the handling course, which was more representative of road driving, my car with a 286 and twin H4's, with Peter H. driving it was much quicker than his car with him driving it. He asked me if I would let him have the full spec of my engine and he had his re-built to the exact same spec. The following rally he won & beat me into 2nd place by a very small margin after re-building to my spec. That'll teach me not to be so honest in future!

I'm not surpised if it was back to back, a race is always better if the cars are facing the same way :D

Well to be fair I would love a weber for noise but I'd love twin su carbs for look and noise

All I need to know is what would perform better on my spec engine
