Hi!
Best of look with the project
Now are you sure you have yourself a City? Your car looks very like an 1100 special to me. Right year, right colour, right interior from what I can see etc... It might be that you have yourself a rare and special beastie
Al
I was thinking 1100 Special when I saw the colour but it does not have the wheels and it has side repeaters and a rag roof?
Front bumper looks like a Clubman one.
Does it say City on the V5 Dan?
Jason
I'm still waiting for the new V5 to arrive. To be truthful guys i dont any any experiance in the Mini scene, just starting to learn about them. The badge on the back says 1100 though. I think someone in the know could have a look and tell me exactly what i'm gotten myself into. The bumper isn't orginal and i think the wings have been changed as their in resonably good condition by comparison.
Cheers

The bumpers are from a Clubman.

I am a fan of these Minis; well worth restoring.
It says on the link "Exterior Trim - Chrome clubman-style bumpers," every day is a school day.

If it says 1100 then it will be a Special.

Clubman bumpers are correct fr an 1100 Spesh. Its the only time clubby bumpers where fitted to a round nose and is strong evidence that this car is indeed a rose 1100 spesh (like mine

She has lost her wheels and the original vinyl roof but I would bet good money this is a spesh!
If she has her original 1098 engine too then we are talking a vry good find indeed!

Sorry mate, been busy.
Yes they are! They are quiet common as they where a popular after market rim as well as being fitted to the '79 spesh. The centers and nut covers are quiet rare though now!

The wheels are in rag order but i'm keeping them to keep the bugger rolling until i grab a few pallets on castors. Limited by wkends so this one is gonna be busy, Aiming to get it on a dbl pallet, drop both subframes, strip the wheel stations and strip the back end too. I dont know about the engine to be honest. I bought it with one complete and one missing it's head. But i've a few bits n bobs n spares that was thrown in with the deal. I'll try and keep everyone posted.
