have a look here, not a mini but the principle is the same, you can get the resistance figures from the workshop manual (widely available as a download)

Check all your electrical connections including the engine earth strap, 9/10 it's normally something simple.

always sound advice this. you should make this part of any routine checks you do even without any problems.

is it turning over, but just not sparking?
Are you battery connections done up tight, as just placing them on the terminals will cause you grief

Turning over just fine but no spark. The connections wasn't done right I'm afraid, so Ill make shure to check that as well.

Update on mine - again this morning there was turning over and no spark. The only correlation to this and the other week is the freezing temperatures.

I've ordered a new coil pack regardless, going to check the grounding points aren't undergoing some kind of contraction away from the shell when the temperature drops this low.

Heading out to the garage now, will post my findings later on. Seems that the coilpack is a well know source for grief..

Ok, back from the garage:

Removed the grille and cleaned the connection to coilpack and other wires.
Replaced the battery width a fully charged
Cleaned most of the earth connections also in the booth

Result: When everything was apart and I was about to give up she started. I cranked a couple of times and she started every time! Put everything back together, even took the time to re-wire the extra lights. And When everything was in place same damn problem.

Ideas? Bad coil pack? I was unable to measure it since I didn't have the correct bit for my tools.

sounds like it could be a bad conection or wiring somewhere i recon. maybe the cableing is breaking down and you cant see it as its covered. trying moving the cables a bit with each attempt of starting see if that highlights something. you still need to check the coil that as above.

well that confirms its not the imobiliser, the fact your actually able to crank the engine rules this out.
