So why don't you have a temperature gauge?

There should be a temperature gauge in the instrument pack, if it isn't there you must have a dirty great big empty space there.

Your car will have a temperature gauge. Being a Mayfair do you have the three dial pod in front of the steering wheel?? Speedo, rev counter then fuel and temp gauge in the last one.
Even the centre binnacle type with the three dials should have a temperature gauge unless of course your has been modified???
My clubman has the two dial dash in front of the steering wheel and the temperature gauge is on the right hand side of the right hand dial / pod.

It hasn't got a wire for some reason, never noticed the gauge so I never realized there was no wire
The back of the gauge hasn't got a wire attached?
Can you check to see if there is a wire in the engine bay attached to the engine block where the engine temp sensor is, I forget where it is but someone here will know!

Dad was telling me he got a clubman for £25 earlier! The problem with minis is, for a long time before they became classics they were cheap for people on tight budgets, therefore they were repaired on the cheap sometimes badly!

Okay I will have a look for that tomorrow thank youGreen/blue wire, should be at the right hand side of the head under the top hose, attached to a brass sensor. If not there it should be found emerging from the end of the wiring loom near the alternator wiring.
