Right, some idiot. One of 8 previous owners, has ripped the tabs off the heated rear windscreen, obviously this means its not functional! But, can I re-attach them some how, or am I having the worlds most careful drive home from work with a new rear screen...

You can have a go, there are low temperature solders and conductive adhesives out there.

rear screen is toughened glass, thus not liable to easy damage.

If it can't be repaired, buy a used rear window if you can. I got one off ebay for under £10.

£39 delivered for a s/hand one, surprisingly more than I thought, getting the soldering iron out is a bit more appealing now

For £39 delivered for S/H i'd rather buy new.
I'm gonna try and solder them back on, but we'll see.

Fair enough you got nothing to loose, you can't make it any worse
I'd be interested to see if you have any success with the soldering iron
