What you have there is a cone and what's left of what looks like a home made hilow adjustable suspension trumpet, you can buy new sets of these and I would recommend new ones all round because they don't look up to the job (and clearly weren't)

That is a very badly designed rear height adjuster, which clearly is unsafe, and needs to be replaced on both sides. You should replace the knuckle joints as they will inevitably be worn, and get either a new set of HiLos or a pair of standard trumpets. The rubber suspension cones may be fit for further use, in any case it would not hurt to try them, and only get a new pair if the ride is too hard or too low.

Depending on whats fitted to the front i would seriously consider buying this kit and change the lot.

It looks like you have genuine Hi-Los there that someone has drilled out the end of and made their own extension bars for the rear, presumably to avoid the cost of shipping the extension bars halfway around the world. Thing is they have done it incredibly badly, they have put the thread which will be the weakest part of the rod right at the point where it's likely to see the greatest extent of any flexing in use. The result was predictable! So I would imagine the front is fine if this did start life as a real set of Hi-Los, put up a photo of the front for us to see and if you can a closer look at the trumpet part of what has failed. You will definitely need to replace the trumpet part though as if they were genuine ones the thread must have been drilled out.

No, you're right, it's not. I just worked it out. I was thinking the cast part from the first photo looked like a genuine one with the paint removed but it's actually a front trumpet used at the rear! Interesting home made stuff, but badly engineered.

Knuckle joints are linked on the page lined above (below the product)! It takes you to the Mini Spares version but if you follow that there is a further link to the genuine version.

You shouldn't have to pay VAT no, check with simon@minispares (a member here) as he can sort things like this out or at least tell you more.

Hi if you end up deciding to replace the fronts you may need a cone compressor tool. Could someone with more knowledge confirm please
