Thort i would share share my rally car project with you all :)

but before we start, please accept appologese for any gramar and spelling misstakes, i can't spell for S*#t, lol.

picked up the bare shell on 26/5/13 and she looked like this when i got her home

hazel1_zps0d80b076.jpg

first thing i did was fit new drivers side sill, then weld up a fecking big hole that had been cut into her bulkhead for a webber box, i also welded up all the othe holes as per "blue book regs", paint the bulkhead and then fit my freshly painted subframe :)

next wast fitting a 2nd hand front end i managed to scav off a mate who bought a new one (still need inner wings tho).

Look's like a great project, what are your plans for it?

How did you go about getting the mk1 light conversion panels level?

i'm getting back into tarmac rallying so she'll have full cage, fia seats n harnesses etc.....

engine will be 1380, big valve head, straight cut box, 7.5" disks with minisport 4pots, 10" wellers, polly bushes all round, hi-lo's, adjustable tie bars, 1.5 degree negative camber all round, spax gas shockies, erm....... loads to do yet, lol.

getting painted vauxhall reggatta blue (olny because i have shed loads left over from a chavette i painted not long ago), black rof, black group2 arches.

keeping bumpers for now until she's passed scrutineering a few times ;)

as for the mk1 plates, i used a tape measure, measured the gaps between the edge of the holes to the seem strip, the rear valance lip, boot lid and roof lip, i haven't got the lights yet but they seem the same ( i hope).

Sounds good, That is pretty much the same way I did it, but mine didn't turn out the way I wanted and also where the light mounts was not bevelled enough so i'm either going to redo them or put mk2/3's on

quick update, got the front brakes and suspension all built up, same with the back and she is currently sat on a set of 12" alloys (still looking for 10"s). think she's a little too low at the back, need to adjust the hi-lo's.

not much of an update today, been taking my time trying to get the filler work right on the rear lights, nearly there now, the outer side of the drivers side is still a bit low (see pic), another skim of filler should sort that tho :)
