Some great progress where about did you paint and what paint do you use? On another note do you have a 5 series and an awesome looking E30 on the drive?

Nope, up until yesterday i had an awsome looking e36 in silver on the drive, wifes car is a meriva. Painted it down the side of my house with halfords rattle cans, its a rally car so doesnt need a show standard paint job, would have gun'd it otherwise.

You're working fast! The rear lights are looking great, very nice work there. Keep up with this thread, it's giving me the motivation to carry on with mine!

not sure which house you reffering to, where is it?

my mini is vauxhall regatta blue. i had loads of tins left over from when i had a chevette and i liked the colour. doesn't take too long, halfords seem to have now perfected the nozzles on their spray cans, they spray really well and fan out nicely. not quite as good as a gun but still, for a rattle can its spot on.

Looks good its directly inline with the subway if you were able to see it from looking out the window lol but by a primary school. What alloy are they? Are they 10 x 5?

on todays episode of "drew's mk1 rep"

new front end arrived (well all but the drivers wing)..........

front panel bolted on, passenger inner winf bolted on (shocky mount bolts)

passenger wing clamped on to lined everything up propperly.

1001065_433229260117277_1287246998_n_zps

now for the fun bit :D

1011889_433229160117287_1588542931_n_zps

i was going to cut out the whole hinge panel and replace it with mk1 ones but decided to just use the hinge brackets off them instead.......

1013043_433229063450630_1793407035_n_zps

beautiful fit :D gotta drill the bottom one tomorro, then strip the door apart to strengthen the inside so they can take the external hinges :D

Then the other side, lol

1016632_433228793450657_1525314770_n_zps

well folks, thats it for today i'm afraid, doesnt look like i got much done in the 6 hours i was working on her but it was a tw@t trying to get the hinges in the right place, lol

Alright mate, so you are actually going to have the doors working off mk1/2 hinges? Ie not purely hinges for show!
