Its bad enginering and will not wear the tyres evenly and under high corner forces could jump the bead, ok if your showing it static.

If you like this style you accept that it is FORM>function.  Now, personally I like the stretch and poke style and there are many car enthusiasts that do.
What do you gain by saying how much you dislike the look of it? Yeah surely you get a slower track time however for people that use this style it is not about track times.
I haven't had any issue with the tires stretched over my wheels, they haven't popped off cause I have kerbed them. I never kerb my wheels.
Yeah sidewall is buggered, I am changing the flares to allow a little bit more clearance for my fitment.

My 2 cents. I would like to see more minis form>function.

I also love the down and out look with some stretch and poke. The reason stretch came about was because of German Racing drivers having to keep the top of their wheels under their arches, but they wanted wider wheels for better grip. They then stretched their tyres so the top was under the arches but they had wider wheels. And I doesn't effect wear that much, camber is the main one for that. Not trying to be a smart-ass or anything, i'm just a stance lover with too much time :P

 so... fitting wider wheels but using the same width tyres increases the grip how? because it sure isnt increasing the contact area which is the only way you would increase any level of grip with the same tyre design and compound. so your story of German racing teams just cant ring true, not to mention you would be changing the characteristcs of the tyre again decreasing the available grip/life of the tyre

if people only do it for the look and aren't bothered about handling then why not stick cross ply's on?

I agree with Adam_93rio on this, cheers mate.

All I asked for was pics with these tyres and wheels, because I love the look of it and want to achieve this look. This now is turning into a debate of the disadvantage and advantages of having these.

Thanks a lot mad mk 1

^ lol he knows he can search, so can everyone else. the reason people ask is because, if he needs to ask a question about them, so they then can be answered by that very person who owns whatever it is. searching by a picture on google doesn't always answer questions. but to be honest, half the people don't really understand it that much. relentless of what the technicalities of it would be. a lot of drifters have stretched tyres on and track cars. just, thats how it is :P

back on to topic:

i have 7x10's with the 6" 008's on. and theres some stretch going on, but not a massive amount, there are degrees of stretching tyres, doing it 2 inches are not going to hurt as the 7x13's are stretched already. mine are stretched an inch, but some tyres have different sidewall's which give more of the wanted look or less etc
