I agree that this may HELP thieves however, I think it will raise awareness to the general public who might have seen some of the daylight robberies that have been going on. The show miht make people think twice when they see some people loading a mini onto a truck in the middle of the day, instead of just presuming all is well.
Still, the thefts are shocking at the minute, so any potential improvement is good in my eyes.
In an ideal world, yes I think that would happen. However, the reality is the majority of people want an easy life and will not confront people these days. People are too worried they will get stabbed or killed or something like that. For example, Nigella Lawson was being violently treated by her husband in a restaurant and no body did anything at all. People just don't do it.
A-Cell - I only caught the back end of the programme so didn't see it all but I agree - it definitely looked like the reason anything was done was because of the enthusiast. Its a real shame, but the MG scenario does offer a glimmer of hope to those who have been unfortunate and lost their mini in this way. Of course, the publicity could also result in the gang changing tactics and stripping the cars. It's really not very good coverage for the poor mini.
