I have the powerspark kit from SimonBBC

The trigger ring does have the shoulder to stop it going too far down the shaft, i pushed the ring down until this met with the square part of the shaft - as it should be.

In my case in this position this is where the module did not pick up any trigger, thus no spark.

I have now slid the trigger up to directly below/against the rotor arm and it works perfectly.

Think my case and coleman's case are more sheer bad luck with a "slightly off" batch...

Air gap hasn't been an issue so far though, i did look at it and query it though.

2mm in air gaps for mag proximity switches is nothing special by all accounts.

I did exactly the same with my Accuspark one to get it working. Seems strange that three different makes all have the same problem. Unless they are all sourcing from the same place......

I suspect they are one and the same, Aldons like in mine are all black so they told me where as the triggers in the others are red, same product different packaging ?

Tamworth - I'm pretty certain all the kits are identical (same initial manufacturer etc) accuspark & powerspark all look the same.

I sent an email to the company i got my kit from, asking them to put up a section about this particular issue on their site ( would've saved a big headache in the first place). But they didnt really want to hear any of it. They asked whether the dizzy had been tampered with before, suggesting that drive shaft was sitting too low in the dizzy. I told them that it was standard and to my knowledge had not been tampered with. But they woudln't put up anything on their site about it, because of their concerns that it's the dizzy that may not be "quite right" in cases such as ours...

Dill - Remember the big 'ole leccy ignitions, with the black box on the coil?!
