I've been quoted this for my mini......£1600 for a new front end (wings, a posts, bonnet repaired, front valance) plus two doors re skinned, new rear valance, full new scuttle and just the interior stripped by me ie seats out and carpets.

Full respray inside and out in MG pearl blue and I give him the car still drive able ;D ie, everything still in the car, with only the carpets, and seats taken out so that he doesn't rip them during painting and he does the rest all in two weeks. Including all prepping, inside and out, stripping the car, all the welding, and everything else even down to taking the windscreens out :( :dontgetit:

Think that's ok?

Went to another place they said minimum of £2500 starting because I need a new windscreen surround, and fuel filler (which only has a 10p coin patch of rust!!!! ) and, amazing my sills will need replacing......I have just had it MOT'd, no probs, no rot, nothing. So I went to the MOT centre again and said, give me that hammer and went underneath the car with a large hammer, did it budge.....nope. So don't believe every 'mini specialist' :D

My paint job cost me £330! And its a pro finish, no blemishes, faults, overspray - nothing!
Have a look at my profile.

right my veiw

if stuff is done properly it costs and costs lots, 1200quid for a paint job is not expensive if its done right using quailty materials, like dupont of ici, there are cheaper paints there are good and bad jobs, worse thing is paying out to find u need to paint it again because like the car i just had in the welding of the panels was well not there, the out sill was placed on with 3 mig tacks and the front panel was not welded to the wing or the flitch panel, then it has been painted, in mica red, so then u have to sort it with minimal paint damage because u dont want to respray the car again

goto someone who knows minis and not just a body shop

my red mini (in avatar) cost me £1100 to have resprayed, this included complete bare metal, front end cut off and replaced (i supplied panels), new bonnet boot and doors (i supplied), debumpered front and rear, and then painted targa red witha gloss black roof, gloss black petrol tank, boot sprayed inside and under bonnet sprayed. also underseal sprayed underneath. i didnt think that was too bad!!
