My first mobile was back in 99, a  pay and go nokia 3210 along with just about everyone else in my class/year and endless hours, weeks, months wasted playing snake.

YEAH SNAKE RULES!

How about the cost of petrol these days!!

Even I remember when petrol cost less than £1.00 a litre
Then when I passed my test it just went up and up from about £1.15 until now...

What sort of childhood did you have if you were worried about the price of petrol  :dontgetit:?

Ahhh snake, I had it on my ZX Spectrum and spent a week of evenings tapping the program in line by line from a book, just so a bunch of zeros that vaiguely resembled a snake, could run around a screen pretending to eat numbers! Then you had to record the program onto a tape cassette and play it back through a tape recorder, every time you wanted to play it, because the ZX had a massive 16kb of RAM and no ability to store program's once it was switched off!

Hahha wow I have made it sound tragic

I merely took an interest in all things car related and asking what the numbers On the sign meant were part of it

I didnt start worrying until I had to pay for it :D

I wasn't sitting there as a child thinking about my finances lol
Ill just shut up I think :P

I'll get back to childhood stuff now

What were those coloured plastic lace/string things called that people made into keyrings and stuff

There was a technique to it...I can't remember the name of them at all!!!

I think you might be talking about Scoubis. I didn't know about them, saw them in France a couple of weeks ago and bought them for my 10 year old niece as a present. However, the teenage boys (16, 18 and 19) found them, opened them, and before I knew it keyrings, necklaces etc were being made! Still, it kept them quiet during the 4 hour drive to the port. Really, what's wrong with them!! And what am I supposed to say to my poor presentless niece!

I miss the weather people using magnetic symbols on the weather charts when presenting the weather forecast on TV. I'm not very good at moving with the times and hate the modern TV weather forecasts!

I loved watching Space Patrol.....a kids science-fiction television series featuring marionette puppets that was produced in the UK in 1962 and broadcast on ITV beginning in 1963. It was written and produced by Roberta Leigh in association with ABC tv. Once thought completely lost the complete series was re-discovered on film in an old garage a few years ago and released on a now rare and very expensive dvd box set!

Also Gerry Anderson's Fireball XL5 (before Stingray or Thunderbirds) !

Anyone remember adidas poppers? They wind me up, the amount of times I wore them at school and people would run past and pull them...

I had them too, so f'in annoyin when people did that, even worse when they popped all the way to the top, was like wearing strippers trousers, if you were unlucky enough, they would come off completely lol

yep!! Took ages to pop them back together. Think they banned them eventually at my school because they were tired of kids coming to class with unpopped to the top trousers flailing everywhere. Then you got the utter doughnuts who thought it was cool having the bottom 3 or something unpopped because they covered your trainers etc..
