Seller doesn't seem interested on here or eBay. I paid £12 for P&P which I thought was about right for a 3 day delivery by Hermes based on Parcel2Go prices (£5.75 + Insurance + VAT - but i dont know if it is insured). As a comparison Yodel next day was £7.75 + Insurance + VAT.

You said you were happy with the delivery charge earlier ;)

And the date that it was collected is not the problem, as you say in your original post it's quoted as 12 to 14 days delivery - if the item was delivered by Hermes as it should have been (within 3 days of collection) it would have easily been delivered within the quoted time 12 to 14 days.

So unless the seller is ignoring you then I don't see how this is the sellers fault in the slightest (sorry, but I'm just going by the facts that you have told us) - it's the fault of Hermes, but it's now over to the seller to find out why you haven't taken delivery. So... if the seller doesn't find out why the item has not been delivered then you have grounds to be annoyed at the selelr.

But, as i said before, reading your posts - the seller doesn't apear to have so far done anything wrong so far?

Regarding P&P fees - it's a postage and packaging fee (not a postage fee), so the £12 also includes the cost of the packaging and the sellers time.

Anyway, was only trying to help - sorry for being nice.

I appreciate your points Roberts, and I am also a Trader on here and have always given buyers postage options.

To be honest 12-14 days is a terrible amount of time - and per eBay that includes dispatch time.

I have no idea what his packaging costs are but i imagine a second hand cylinder head will arrive wrapped in black bin bags so hardly a cost.

You seem to think im getting at the sender - i'm simply asking for advice - as a buyer - as to whether others share my view and consider the delivery time and service to be worthy of getting bent out of shape over.

With the range of couriers and competitive rates i feel the service could be a lot better.

The prices I have quoted were from what i could get on the website this morning. Hermes gave 2 options - 2 day and 3+ days, how can 3+ reasonably be 14 days??

The Yodel next day as a comparison price wise. With Yodel it would have been here a week ago!

So whilst being nice the seller still has an obligation to be helpful - simply giving me the tracking number again isnt helpful.

Roberts - would you consider a 14 day delivery time on your goods to be acceptable???

Yes you are asking for advice... so, I'll go back to my original point:

The tracking info clearly says that the seller booked the item in for collection on the 16/08/2013 and the item was collected from the seller on 21/08/2013, so the seller has done his bit as promised, you can't be mad at the seller for this.

It's Hermes you need to contact, or if you can't contact them directly ask the seller to look into it for you.

Regading your points:

Isn't it a bit late to moan about things you already knew (sorry to say that but it's true)?

- Delivery times (12 to 14 days) would have been listed within the eBay auction before you placed a bid, so you can't moan at that.

- Delivery charges (£12) would have also been listed within the eBay auction (I imagine? if not you would have contacted him and asked for delivery cost before you placed a bid) before you placed a bid, so you can't moan at that.

So I don't beleive you can moan about them sorry.

However, you can moan if the seller doesn't help you sort it out.

Good luck with it.

Thanks Roberts.

Just to clarify i did accept all the points at the auction stage. But as we are now past 14 days i think i have the right to start getting shirty.

As a 30+ guy used to dealing with various HMRC contacts etc im used to deadlines being deadlines and thus expect the same when dealing with online purchases.

My issue is it is actually now 15 days since the sale and the seller is doing nothign to help. He has his £200 so no longer gives a stuff. Also the advert on here has disappeared as well.

Be very wary of Yodel, google yodel reviews and see what you get. What they say they do and what happens in reality are two very different things. I use collectplus but have used Hermes without problems. The main issue here seems to be communication. It can be the make or break when things don't go well. Hopefully the seller will be helpful in tacking down the item as that length of time suggests something has gone wrong.

The adverts disappearing will most likely be because it has been archived due to the age of the thread and the posts on it. A seller can request a thread removed/ locked etc but they have no power to do anything other than edit their own posts. So please don't think the ad not being around now is automatically dodgy because it isn't by any stretch.

Im aware of Yodels issues, i simply used it as a comparison on price between 3+ days and next day.

I normally use TNT and have not had a problems, I sold a custom mini loom last week. it was collected on thursday at 1pm and arrived with the customer at 9.11 the following morning.

I agree, the sellers lack of interest and help is the issue here.
