Nothing too bad, just rusty inner sills. I knew they were scabby, but there are big holes. Cant copy pictures on my phone, will do it on the pc in the morning.

Hmmm. Just chopped out the inner sill on one side. The doorstep fell out at the same time because it was filler. It was held to the outer sill by ONE spot weld. But. It's a cover sill, with the original sill underneath!!! Or at least, what's left of it. So, hammering, brushing, chiselling etc. Most of it is out now, ready for a Hoover once the sludge is dry. Just taking a break to stop the flow of blood from my freshly sliced knuckle. To the bone, bloody cover sills.....

That whole side is now chopped, cleaned and prepped. I also chopped out the lower part of the rear quarter. Underneath that, I also found the remains of the rest of the old sill, which is now cleaned out as best as possible. All the remaining steel has been cleaned and coated with rust killer. Ready for a quick clean to bright steel with the grinder, then welding new bits on. I did find a 5/16" spanner which had been left inside the old sill when it was covered over! Free spanner!

Been a bit quiet on here this last 2 days, my router is down. I managed to get my finger infected on Monday, so I couldnt bend it yesterday. It also rained all day. Today though, I got back to it. Cleaned, inner sill on, patch on the arch too. Ready for the doorstep panel tomorrow. Also cleaned filler out of the boot floor, drained and removed the tank (managed to have 1/4 gallon left, that was close!) assessed the other sill. That one is not as bad, thankfully. Still needs replacing, but no nasties underneath. Also no filler in the doorstep.

Good luck with this, shame the weather has just gotten so bad.

Today was a good day mostly. Between the showers I patched the boot floor (time is not gonna let me do hinge panel, whole floor and valance), cleaned and waxoyled the plate on the front arch and finished the inner sill and totally fitted the doorstep panel drivers side. Also got a patch made for the lower rear quarter panel tacked in place. It will need a lot of filler to make it flush with the body, but it is good steel underneath.

Passenger inner sill and doorstep stripped down. Was surprisingly little corrosion on them. Now all ready to weld the final panels! Structure should be sound in a few hours, then onto touching up paint, carpets and tidying up! Oh, and fixing the horn, new doors, stereo wiring, CB radio in.......

Well, I failed. Doors not fitted, couple of patches need tidying up and painting, then a good polish.
