Little update but not too interesting im afraid. Went to see the mini this morning and its going into the booth this evening for a primer coat. Will be back with me next Saturday. Its been a long old time at the paint shop which is quite frustrating but the bottom line is they have done a great job and taken good care of the car to make sure the paint really stands out. IF its not done by next Saturday, im going to get angry thats for sure!

cheers all

I know tour frustration, I'm stuck waiting on my dyno shop.  I hate having to rely on other people.

its back! Got a few things to do yet. The front end had a minor problem so he is re-doing it for me (back on sunday). wing mirrors are being sprayed red and the doors are being polished up.

Im making this guy sound pretty bad really.. his work is good but his organisation is absolutely horse sh**. He forgot to do the underside of my roof so is going to come and aerosol that in for me.

Im happy though.. thats the bottom line :) I have the colours ive asked for, its been professionally done and I got a bit of money off for the delays.

looking better now!

Bit miffed actually because the paint shop has broken one of the gas hinges on the flip front, also one side lines up absolutely perfectly but the other is well out! Thought id take a breather from it to make sure im not being stupid before I speak to the guys at the shop.

Need to order a few standard parts and a load of nuts/bolts! Lots to crack on with.

Anyone know any decent nut and bolt assortment deals to buy?

sorry if you have already seen this update from my facebook page.. but for those who have not here you are.

Made good headway today bolting some parts back onto the car. Front grille, front lights for example..

I also got the shifter working but need some driveshafts in place until i can tweak that to perfection.

Made a start with the wiring loom, I have never ever done any wiring in a car before and boy is my mind frazzled. Any help in this department would be great!! help with what? everything!!

Rear exhaust exit hole cut out of the bootlid which was a bit of measuring combined with some commitment but it looks good and will be perfect with some trim in place.

not much more to say other than I will try and tackle the arches tomorrow! :) cheers.

Great build! I didn't know the race frame would fit in the body like that. Keep up the good work! The end is near for that first ride!! It will be worth it!

quick update for those that are not following the facebook thread..

All parts are back from paint now, finally. I have been fitting all these, and just generally ticking off the parts waiting to be bolted back on.

Why have I not touched the engine yet? Basically zcars are just sending me a temporary piece of wiring to connect the engine harness to the chassis loom so I can get power to the engine and fire it up. Oh, also i need to fit all the plumbing. I have blue hoses but zcars are sorting some red ones out so im holding up for those...

Bit of a waiting game on parts now really. Red hoses, wiring adaptor, bulkhead and engine fluids.

I like it all...excluding the red mirrors and rear wing/spoiler.
