It may be either an exceptionally good engine, or a wonky pressure gauge. I have seen that sort of pressure on a newish engine, so it may be genuine.

Nothing to do with the oil leak of course.

Here is the clue.

the oil only seems to come out when in gear and driving as opposed to just revving it up in neutral

Here is the answer.

i had this issue, the rubber perished on the dipstick itself,, bought a polished one from minisport,,, problem solved :) they came with a double rubber so a better seal

Oil pressure has NOTHING to do with crankcase pressure.

If there was a lot of pressure in the crankcase, it would be making the same mess in neutral. I think you have a non sealing dipstick and the transmission is throwing the oil out whilst driving.

ok would there be a specific dip stick i need so i can measure the oil correctly? also the standard ones are never a tight fit, maybe there is a newer better design?

i was thinking this one?

Any good quality dipstick for a manual engine is OK, i use the ones with two rubber rings to make sure of a good fit, Just dont select an auto one.

The one you have picked out should be fine.

ok so new dipstick fitted and seems to have stopped most of the leak although there is still oil around the dipstick, also it gets very hot when driving, it used to sit at 90 degrees c now its up to 130 before i chicken out and turn it off, theres no blockage in the water system the pump works fine, the oil is topped up and the timing and fuel mix is good im totally confused now

It sounds like you need to overhaul your cooling system. Flush the system through completely with a hose until it runs clear, check that the fins of the Radiator are clear and not clogged up with oily dirt from the incident, make sure the pressure cap is working as it should on the radiator, and that you have a good flow of coolant round the system. Also, make sure that ther is still no stream of bubbles in the coolant.
