All paint work inc whole repaints are done with a roller
You can get a good finish quickly
If you can gloss a door in your house and be happy with it you can paint a door on your car

im about to start roller painting my shell this weekend,
I picked up a few cans of gloss almond white
and some thinner to cut it with
and some 500-600-1000-1200 sand paint from my local motor store, I would like to get some 1500 or 2000 paper but will probably have to order it online
and a few fine rollers and I have a pair of painters coveralls and new masks to wear as well
I cleaned my garage and im gonna put some plastic down on the floor and put my car on that
and ive already done my final rub down and wipe down on the shell, I will do another wipe down before I start rolling paint on
ill post pictures in a week or so

I tried roller painting, followed all the directions people had put up took me ages and I did not get the results I was hoping for (something to bridge the gap until I could afford a real respray.) I am now using rattle cans and have much faster and decent results but only with the right technique and prep obviously. I can post some photos of that if you would like?

you have before with the rolling done and now with the rattle cans done?
I ones painted a dash of a 2001 gmc sierra with rattle cans and it came out so nice,
that people used to think I was playing with them when I said i painted it with rattle cans
prep work is everything

Spend some time on here and you'll see the quality of paint job you can get if you put the effort in
http://rolledon.foru...olled-on-forums
But, on your mini you are really going to struggle to get a match on just the doors (and being a metalic you'll struggle to roll it anyway). In fact even if you send it to a bodyshop, they aren't just going to paint the doors, they will have to blend it into the surrounding panels to try and get a match and under certain lights you will prob still see the different shades
